News on Mantovana goes back to 1500.

Jurisdictions:

  • Castelferro was included in the territory of Gamondio in 900.
  • 1168: Became part of Alessandria.
  • 1454: Predosa became part of the Duchy of Milan.
  • 1470: Given to the Beccaria family.
  • 1707: Passed to the Savoy.
  • 1929: Acquired the hilly territories of Castelferro and Mantovana from the Municipality of Alessandria.

Major events:

  • 1450: Filippo Spinola and Luigi de Montagna Castro Pallavicini occupied Predosa.
  • 1454: With the peace of Venice, Predosa returned to the Duchy of Milan.
  • 1629: The plague reduced the population of Castelferro.
