Major events:
- Pozzol Groppo was under the dominion of Tortona since the 12th century and helped Tortona when it was besieged by Federico Barbarossa in 1155.
- In 1449, the zone passed to the Sforza of Milan, who sent 500 soldiers in 1480 to punish Pozzolo, accused of being a haven for bandits.
- Between 1525 and 1528, the area was almost completely uninhabited due to wars and plagues.
- During the Resistance, it was the scene of fighting between partisans and fascists.
- On January 31, 1945, some members of the 3rd Division "Aliotta" were surprised and killed in Biagasco. [1]
