- On December 22, 1891 the Municipality of Placilla was created.
- During the period between 1891 and 1925 the province of Colchagua was modified several times.
- In the 1930s, Placilla ceased to be a commune and became part of San Fernando and Nancagua.
- In September 1934, they reversed this combination.[1].
