Parish History[edit | edit source]
Paddington St James. The present parish church was completed in 1843, and is a handsome building in the pointed style, with a tower and spire. it is dedicated to St. James. There are places of worship for Baptists and Wesleyans.[1]
St Mary Paddington was originally built as a chapel of ease to help with the growth in population in the St James Paddington Parish. It was created and functioning by the year 1790.
St Mary Paddington should not to be confused with Paddington St Mary Magdalene, they are separate parishes.
