The first documentation of Monticelli dates back to 998.

Jurisdictions:

  • Between 1426 and 1797 Monticelli Brusati was territory of the Republic of Venice.
  • In 1815 the town was incorporated into the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia.
  • In 1859 Monticelli Brusati became part of the Kingdom of Italy.

Major events:

  • In 1410 the Brusati family was expelled.
  • Between 1438-39 Castelveder was almost completely destroyed by the Milanese forces.
  • In 1471 the first neighborhood assembly of Monticelli Brusati was established.
  • In 1833 Monticelli was briefly occupied by Austrian forces.[1]
