The first documentation of Monticelli dates back to 998.

- In 1815 the town was incorporated into the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia.
- In 1859 Monticelli Brusati became part of the Kingdom of Italy.

- Between 1438-39 Castelveder was almost completely destroyed by the Milanese forces.
