The location was first mentioned in a document from 1220.

Jurisdictions:

  • Momperone was under the jurisdiction of the bishops of Tortona, who assigned it in fief to the Malaspina family.
  • Later, it passed to the Frascaroli family until 1466, and then to the Guidobono Cavalchini through marriage. Momperone was part of the Comitato di Tortona. [1]
