The Marshall Islands are an island country in the Pacific Ocean whose nearest neighbors are the Federated States of Micronesia, Wake Island, Kiribati, and Nauru. It was formerly ruled by Spain, Germany, and Japan. The official languages are Marshallese and English.[1]
