The companies of the Maine Coast Guard Infantry mustered in at various times between March 18, 1864 and March 1, 1865. The companies mustered out at various times between May 25, 1865 and September 6, 1865. See below for the mustering in and mustering out dates for each company.

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
Company A - Mustered in March 18, 1864.
Assigned to garrison Fort Washington, Maryland.
Mustered out May 25, 1865.
Company B - Mustered in April 27, 1864.
Stationed at Fort Foote, Maryland.

Company C - Mustered in May 16, 1864.
Stationed at Fort Sullivan, Maine.
Mustered out September 6, 1865.
Company D - Mustered in January 6, 1865.
Stationed at Machiasport, Maine.
Mustered out September 6, 1865.
Company E - Mustered in January 7, 1865.
Stationed at Rockland, Maine.

Stationed at Belfast, Maine.

Stationed at Augusta, Maine and later Calais, Maine.
