Description

Kirby, Vermont at Wikipedia

Kirby was chartered on October 28, 1807 by the state of Vermont through an Act of Incorporation. Kirby was created from two separate parcels of land: Hopkinsville (sometimes Hopkins Gore, Hopkins Grant or Hopkintonia) and Burke Tongue, which had been a part of the older town of Burke. Kirby has a shape of an arrowhead, pointing due south to the northern corner of the town of Waterford. The town is roughly half the size of most towns. [1] [2]
