Parish History
FROME, or Frome-Selwood (Holy Trinity) was a chapelry, built in the year 1838, and in the parish of Frome St John the Baptist, the market-town, and borough, and the head of a union, in the hundred of Frome, E. of Somerset, 25 miles (N. E.) from Ilchester, and 105 miles (W. by S.) from London. Another district chapelry, called Christ Church was also built in this large township. There were places of worship for Baptists, the Society of Friends, Independents, Wesleyans, Primitive Methodists, and Presbyterians. The poor law union comprises 29 parishes or places.[1]
