The first secure mention of Frascaro is in two notarial documents from 1192. There is also evidence of a barbaric village in the area dating back to between the mid-5th and mid-6th centuries AD.
Jurisdictions:
- Alto Medioevo: Part of the territory of "Scamelaria," along with Gamalero, under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Acqui Terme.
- 1315: Briefly under the control of Marco Visconti, Signore di Milano.
- 1315: Part of the Ducato di Milano until 1595.
- 1534: Became part of the "Corpi Santi" of Alessandria.
- 1658: Frascaro separated from the "Corpi Santi" due to non-compliance by the city of Alessandria.
- 1674: The feud of Frascaro was acquired by Count Carlo Guasco of Bisio.
Major events:
- 1315: Gamalero and Frascaro were punished by Marco Visconti, who "took them by force, throwing the whole country into turmoil and great confusion."
- Around 1403: The Trotti brothers sought refuge in Frascaro's castle but were captured and executed by Facino Cane, who then destroyed the castle.
- July 13, 1534: Frascaro became part of the "Corpi Santi" of the city of Alessandria.
- May 10, 1674: Count Carlo Guasco of Bisio acquired the feud of Frascaro. [1]
