The purpose of the project is to standardize all page names throughout the Portuguese Wiki.

Edit the Portuguese Wiki[edit | edit source]

  • You will need to have editing rights on the Portuguese Wiki to begin this project.

  • Log in to FamilySearch and visit the Portuguese Wiki home page.

  • Reach out to Caileigh Oldroyd with your FamilySearch user name and she will get you access.

Sometimes there is a glitch with logging in to the language wikis. Here is the work around:
1. Make sure you are logged in when you are on the Portuguese Wiki
2. Go to the main page of FamilySearch and make sure you are logged in
3. Click the "World" icon at the top left of the page
4. Choose "Português"

Instructions[edit | edit source]

There are various instructions and additional instructions for different pages in the wiki. Additional instructions will be added for any pages that need exceptions to what is already listed. Please only work on tabs that instructions are written for.

Municipality Pages[edit | edit source]

1.Sign your name next to a link on the Brazil Task List or the Italy Task List

2. Click on the down arrow, which is located left of the Search field in the right-hand corner of the page where it says, "Mais". NOTE: You must be logged into FamilySearch to see move a page.

3. From the drop down menu, click on "Mover." It will navigate you to the Move page.

4. On the Brazil Task List or the Italy Task List, copy the New Page Name from Column D.

5. In the "Novo titulo" box, remove the existing name and then paste the New Page Name from Column D.

  • Leave the drop down box that should say (Principal) alone

  • The first box is where you will put the new name copied from Column D on the Task List.

  • "Motivo:" is where we will put the reason (listed in Step 9)

  • Leave "Criar um redirecionamento" so there will be a redirect

  • Unclick "Vigiar a pagina original e a nova" if you don't want to watch the page

6. Put

as the reason for moving the page in the "Motivo" box.

7. Click "Mover pagina" once you have double checked all the boxes above.

8. Put the date next to your name once you are done and start over on the next link.
