This project fixes one of two problems: it turns lists of words into tables, and reformats tables where words are separated by breaks into the standardized table format.

Part A: Create Tables

Step One: Insert Table into the Wordlist

  • Go to Alphabetical/General Wordlist, and click [edit source] after the letter A.
  • Insert the following table directly under "=== A ==="

Step Two: Move Words from Word List to Table

  • At the top of the table, replace FOREIGN LANGUAGE with the name of the language of the word list (either Czech, Dutch, or Italian).
  • From the genealogical word list now below the table, copy the first foreign language word into the first FOREIGN WORD in the table.
For example, the first row in the Dutch Genealogical Word list reads

You would copy the word aan and paste it into the first FOREIGN WORD in the table
The table now looks like:

  • From the genealogical word list now below the table, copy the first english translation(s) of the foreign word into the first ENGLISH WORD in the table.
For example, the first row in the Dutch Genealogical Word list reads

You would copy the words upon, to and paste it into the first FOREIGN WORD in the table
The table now looks like:

  • Delete the row you just copied from the genealogical word list into the table.
  • Repeat the process with the following rows in the genealogical word list and the table.

Step 3: Add or Delete Rows

  • If you need more rows in the table, insert the following into the table, before the final |} as many times as needed

  • Once you have added all of the words that begin with A, delete any blank rows from the table.
In wikitext, a row is made up of the following three lines. You will need to delete all three, leaving the "|}" at the bottom of the table.

Step 4: Repeat the Process for the Rest of the Alphabet

  • Repeat steps 1-3 with every section of letters in the word list.

Part B: Reformat Tables

Step One: Insert Table into the Wordlist

  • Go to Alphabetical/General Wordlist, and click [edit source] after the letter A.
  • Insert the following table directly under "=== A ==="

This table will be referred to as Table 1.

Step Two: Move Words from Table 2 to Table 1

  • At the top of the Table 1, replace FOREIGN LANGUAGE with the name of the language of the word list (either Latin or Spanish).

Looking at the pre-existing table (Table 2), you will notice that the words are separated into two large columns, with all of the foreign-language words listed after the first horizontal bar, "|", and the english translations following the second horizontal bar, "|". Each word is separated by breaks "< br >".

  • From Table 2, copy the first foreign word into the first FOREIGN WORD in Table 1.
For example, the first word in the Latin Genealogical Word List is "datum".
Table 1 now looks like

  • From Table 2, copy the first english translation(s) of the foreign word into the first ENGLISH WORD in Table 1.
For example, the first word in the Latin Genealogical Word List is "datum".

  • Delete the words you just copied from Table 2, including the < br > that immediately follows the words.
  • Repeat the process with the following rows in the genealogical word list and the table.

Step 3: Add or Delete Rows

  • If you need more rows in the table, insert the following into the table, before the final |} as many times as needed
