- To add Town links from FamilySearch.org Catalog to the Cemeteries section of the Vermont Town page

- To add County links from FamilySearch.org Catalog to the Cemeteries section of the Vermont Town page
Additional Information[edit | edit source]
- If there are any links or other information already in the Cemeteries section in the Town, place these new links at the top to add to what is already there. Do not remove anything that was there before

- Select a town from Vermont Part 28 that you want to work on and put the date and your name by that town

Part One[edit | edit source]
- To add TOWN Cemeteries List from Find A Grave.com to the Cemeteries section of the Vermont Town pages
Step One[edit | edit source]
- Make sure to log into FamilySearch.org
- Click on the town in the task list to open up the town page
- This first image is what a Vermont Town page looks like
- Towards the bottom of this image is the Cemeteries section
- Click on edit source in the Cemeteries section of the Town chosen from the Task List
- Copy and paste these 3 lines of WikiText to the Cemeteries Section
- When you right click on the mouse and it doesn't give you the "paste" option then use "Ctrl V"

Step Two[edit | edit source]
- Go to Find A Grave Cemeteries
- Enter the Town and State in Cemetery Location
- This should bring the dropdown with the Town, County, State, United States of America
- Make sure this Place matches with what you chose on the Task List
- Click the Search button
- This page shows how many cemeteries are in that town and is the page we want linked to our Cemeteries section

Steps for creating the link[edit | edit source]

- Copy the URL from the top of the FindAGrave Town Cemeteries page and paste it into the WikiText added to the Cemeteries section in step one
- This is only an example do not copy:

- Add the TOWN name to the end of the URL and before the word Cemeteries
- Make sure there is a space between the URL and the TOWN name

- Save changes
- Then go on to the next section:

- To add TOWN Cemeteries from the FamilySearch.org Catalog to the Cemeteries Section of the Vermont Town page
- Click on edit source in the Cemeteries section of the Town chosen from the Task List
Step One[edit | edit source]
- To search for cemeteries at the Vermont Town level, follow directions below:
- Go to the FamilySearch Catalog
- Enter: United States, Vermont in the Place box
- Click on: Search
- Click on: Places within United States, Vermont at the top of the page
- Next click on the County you want to search
- Then click on Places within United States, Vermont, County Name
- Last click on the town you want to search

- This is an image for the Rutland County, Vermont
- If there are no cemetery records on the Town or County level
- Delete the Town or County WikiText in the edit source of the Town page
- If there is no Town cemetery records skip to Part 3 *To add COUNTY County Cemeteries from the FamilySearch.org Catalog to the Cemeteries section of the Vermont Town pages
- If there are Town cemetery records but no County cemetery records, complete the Town section Part 2, skip Part 3 and go to the end
- If there are Cemeteries at the Town Level continue through the instructions

- Here is an image of the Town of Benson, Rutland County, Vermont
- It shows that there is a Cemeteries link to click on:
- When the link is clicked on it will next show this
- Click on the first link
- This is the next page
- Scroll down to Subjects
- Click on the one for the Town that was chosen from the Task List
- Choose the link for United States, Vermont, Rutland, Benson - Cemeteries
- This page shows all the records for the Town of Benson
- Go to the side and copy the Subject Number and paste it into the WikiText
- Then paste in the TOWN section

- To add COUNTY County Cemeteries from the FamilySearch.org Catalog to the Cemeteries section of the Vermont Town pages
- Click on edit source in the Cemeteries section of the Town chosen from the Task List

- Go to the FamilySearch Catalog
- Enter: United States, Vermont in the Place box
- Click on: Search
- Click on: Places within United States, Vermont at the top of the page
- Next click on the County that matches the Town that was chosen on the Task List
- If there are cemetery records on the County level click into the first cemetery record from the Cemeteries section
- This image is of the page for Rutland County, Vermont
- Scroll down to Subjects, Locality Subjects
- Click on United States, Vermont, Rutland - Cemeteries
- This page will show all of the cemetery records belonging to that particular County
- Copy the Subject Number from the side of the page and paste into the Subject Number section from Part 1
