Purpose

Update Wales parish pages to add more content and uniformity.

Updating Wales Parish Pages

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Open the Task List and click on a county tab at the bottom of the task list.
    • There are thirteen counties in Wales, three of them are on hold and two of them have been completed.
  • Place your name next to the parish you want to edit
  • Click on the link and go to the parish page.

Step 2:

  • Click on the Edit Source button at the top of the page.
  • Scroll down to the Records heading.
  • Highlight everything from Records to the blank line above Maps and Gazetteers leaving the contents and headings for Maps and Gazetteers and Websites, press delete.
  • Here are two examples:

Step 3:

  • Copy and paste the following, and begin pasting where the Records heading was:

Step 4:

  • Under the headings Tithe Records and Civil Registration change PARISH NAME to the name of the parish that you are currently editing.

Step 5:

  • Click Show Preview to make sure everything was edited correctly. The new page should look like the example pages referred to in step 7.

Step 6:

  • Enter in the Summary and save changes

Step 7:

  • Return to task list. Place the date you completed the page and move onto the next parish.
