Build Sweden Province Pages

Purpose[edit | edit source]

The Province pages for Sweden are quite bare and need to be cleaned up a bit. We'll be adding and taking away things on the Province pages to make them more user-friendly.

Instructions[edit | edit source]

Step 1 - Pick a Province[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the Task List and sign up for a Province page to fix.

2. Go to the Province page.

Step 2 - Delete These Things[edit | edit source]

3. Delete the following if they appear:

Delete Back to [[Sweden Genealogy|Sweden]]►
Delete ''[[Europe]] [[Image:Gotoarrow.png]][[Sweden Genealogy|Sweden]] [[Image:Gotoarrow.png]][[Province Page Name|Province Name Province]]'' at the top of the page.

Step 3 - Add These Things[edit | edit source]

4. Add the breadcrumb (replacing the capitalized items in link5 with the corresponding words):

5. Add {{Sweden-sidebar}} at the very top of the page above the breadcrumb.

6. Add == References == at the very bottom of the page.

7. Back at the Task List, click on the respective Wikipedia link for your Province, and add the following under any pre-existing information under the History section of the page:

From the introduction and the History section of Wikipedia, find the following type of information:
- The date/time period the original Province was founded or created.
- What state/country it belonged to at different periods of time.
- Historically significant events (fires, earthquakes, battles) that may have damaged genealogical records.
Rephrase the historical information whenever possible so we are not directly copying Wikipedia.
The last bit of information should give the population of the Province (this can be found in the Wikipedia-page sidebar).
- FORMAT (replace capitalized words with respective information):

The population of PROVINCE NAME was roughly ROUNDED POP. NUMBER people in YEAR.<ref>Wikipedia Collaborators, "WIKIPEDIA PAGE NAME" In ''Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia'', WIKIPEDIA PAGE URL. Visited DATE ACCESSED.</ref>
