FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Restructuring US County Page/Auditors

From FamilySearch Wiki

Auditors – Checking Page Content[edit | edit source]

1. Go to Auditors Google sheet to see a current list of things to look for in the county as you review it.

2. Review the page sent by the Reviewer line by line. Check for:

  • Heading names
  • Info under the heading is what belongs there and is formatted correctly.
  • Be sure that all data from the original wiki page appears on the Reviewer’s page.
  • Infobox formatted correctly with appropriate information.
  • No red links on the page.

3. Look for any bolded, non-standard headings that do not match the topic. If you find one, go to NEW PAGE and record it on the spreadsheet including, name of the non-standard heading, topic it is under, and the county you found it on.

4. If there are program errors found while examining the county page, indicate that on the AR Google doc spreadsheet by:

a. Putting a 1 in "Attn!" (Column L)
b. Give an explanation of the problem in Column U
c. Take the "1" out of Column "Ready" (Column N)

5. If there are no programming or reviewer errors, put a "1" in the "Ready" column (column P).

6. You can now move on to the next county.

Jane and Danielle to do[edit | edit source]

Step One - Report any Non-Standard Headings[edit | edit source]

1. Once an auditor has reported a non-standard heading,

a. On the AR google doc, put an X in column P.
b. Record on the Review Summaries google doc (make a link to it when Wilma puts it on Yammer) by:
i. Make a space under the county name
ii. In Column D, Reviewer's Comments put "Non Standard heading [heading] found under [topic]"
iii. Put an X in Column E,
iv. Put in Column H the topic it is found on.

Step Two – Transferring From the Sandbox to the Live Wiki page[edit | edit source]

1. Watch the spreadsheet to see when a page has been signed off by another auditor who has reviewed it. You can then transfer that content to the live wiki page (one auditor reviews and then another uploads to the live wiki page).

2. Prepare to copy the sandbox page over to the live wiki page. This is done in wikitext. • Go to the Page History on the live wiki page and be sure no one has edited the page and added content. If content has been added, that information needs to be placed on the Sandbox page in the proper location. • On the live wiki page:

  • Open the live wiki page and go to wikitext.
  • Place your cursor anywhere in the text and right click.
  • Choose Select All. This will highlight all text on the entire page.
  • Hit your backspace key and this will erase all the text.

3. On the sandbox page:

  • Open the sandbox page and go to wikitext.
  • Place your cursor anywhere in the text and right click.
  • Choose Select All. This will highlight all text on the entire page.
  • Click on Control C (the control key and the C key simultaneously). This will copy all of the text on the page.

4. Back on the live wiki page:

  • Make sure the text remains highlighted on your page.
  • Click on Control V (the control key and the V key simultaneously). This will paste the contents of the sandbox page you just copied onto the live page.
  • Go to the Edit Summary box and enter County Page Reformat as the reason for the edit.
  • Save the page.
  • Review the live page to make sure all the formatting is correct and the entire page appears.

5. Once the information has been successfully transferred to the live page, the content can then be deleted from the sandbox page.
