Monroe, Fairfield, Connecticut will be used for most images and instructions

First Instructions[edit | edit source]

  • Select a State from the Task Lists, and add your name and date to each town you will be working in


  • Next, click on the Town link to open the Town page


  • Make sure you are logged into the FamilySearch.org while in the catalog as well as the Wiki at all times


  • Then in the Contents box scroll down to the Maps section and click on it

  • In the Maps section click on edit source to open up the editing section

  • If there is other information in the Maps Section, put your new Maps links at the very top above the older information. Make a notation on the task list

Step One[edit | edit source]

  • Choose the special state website that corresponds with the state task list you are working in and click on the link

  • Copy and paste this in the editing section

  • Put the town name in the "Search This Record" box
  • if this doesn't get to the right page for your Town click to the left or right to get to the right Town

  • Under Cities, Towns, & Townships select the Town you are working in

  • If the Town isn't there make sure you are in the right county
  • On the right side under the map select a mapping type "Town Offices" and click on the GO button
  • Then select a Town and click on the GO button

  • Copy and paste the URL and copy and paste the TOWN onto the Wiki Text code

  • Click on the letter to the Town that you need
  • Then click on the Town

  • Put the Map links in alphabetical order


Please separate older entries to below the project we are working on, and make sure there is a space between

Older entries might not be the new Manual of Style, but will hopefully be updated in the future

  • Click on Preview
  • Copy and paste into Summary
Project New England Town Maps


  • Put your name and date, for the Town you finished in column "Part One" in the task list,
  • Then start over at Part One for the next Town on the list
