Purpose

Add or format existing breadcrumbs found on country topic pages.

Instructions

1. Go to the task list and sign up for a country page.

2. Once you have signed up for a country, use the link on the task page to go to the country page on the wiki.

3. Use the Country side bar on the right and click on the first topic in blue on the top of the list. Skip any red links.

4. Once the topic page is open, check to see if there is a breadcrumb at the top of the page. A breadcrumb will look like the following:

If there is no breadcrumb

1. Copy the following wiki text and add it to the wiki page in wiki text:

''[[COUNTRY Genealogy|COUNTRY]] [[Image:Gotoarrow.png]] NAME OF TOPIC WIKI PAGE''

2. Replace COUNTRY with the correct country name.

3. Next replace, NAME OF TOPIC WIKI PAGE with the name of the topic page, such as Census.

4. Example for England Census in wikitext: ''[[England Genealogy|England]] [[Image:Gotoarrow.png]] [[Bedfordshire Genealogy|Bedfordshire]] [[Image:Gotoarrow.png]]'' '''Census'’’'''

5. Example of breadcrumb on wiki: https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/England_Census

If there is already a breadcrumb on the page

1. Check to make sure it follows the outline of the above in number 5. If it says "Back to" change it to the new way listed above.

Check your work and save the page

1. Once you have fixed the breadcrumb go to the bottom of the page and click on, "Show Preview". Make sure all the links are blue. If any of the breadcrumb has a red link, double check your work.

2. If the links are correct, go to the Edit Summary field at the bottom of the page and type in: Fixed breadcrumb. Then. save the page.

3. Continue fixing the breadcrumbs for all of the topic pages.

4. Once you have completed all topic pages, return to the task list and choose another country.
