FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Fix Links on Cemetery Tables
Purpose
To fix some broken links on the Cemetery tables on all county pages.
Task List
Instructions
1. There are two different kinds of cemetery tables on the wiki. Use the correct instructions for the state you sign up for.
2. Go to the Fix Cemetery Tables Task List and sign up for a group of counties for a state.
3. Choose the state you are working on from the list and navigate to the county you are going to fix.
4. Go to a county and review the cemetery table to see if it is a new table or an old cemetery table.
5. Use the appropriate instructions below.
Instructions For New Cemetery Tables
These instructions apply to cemetery tables that have the headings on the left side of the cemetery table and look like this:
Step 1 - Findagrave – Tombstone Transcriptions Online
1. On the county you are working on, go down to the Cemetery heading and click on Edit Source.
2. Go down 5 lines to the line that reads:

3. Go to the first Findagrave link (about the 7th line) directly below the line above.
4. Copy the following and replace the old URL in the line:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial
Step 2 - Billion Graves Name Search
1. Go to the next line that has billiongraves in the URL (about the 11th line).
2. Copy the following and replace the old URL in the link:
https://billiongraves.com/search#
Step 3 - Findagrave – List of Cemeteries in the County
1. Go the website: Findagrave (it will open a new tab)
2. Choose the state you are working on from the list.
3. Next, click on the county you are working on.
4. Copy the URL in the browser address field.
5. Continue to go down the table and find the following link (about the 18th line down):

8. Locate the next line that has Findagrave in the URL directly below it (about line 20).
9. Paste the new url over the old url in that line.
Step 4 - Billion Graves Cemetery search
1. Under the Findagrave link, find the Billiongraves link (about the 21st line).
2. Copy the following and replace the old URL in the line:
https://billiongraves.com/search/cemetery
Step 5 - Save the page
1. Go to the bottom of the page to the edit summary field and type in, fixed cemetery table and save the page.
2. Now go back and try each of the Findagrave and Billiongraves links to see if they work. Make any adjustments on the URLs so that they work correctly.
3. Go to the next county you are to work on. If you have finished all of the counties you signed up for, go back to the task page and sign up for a new set of counties.

Instructions For Old Cemetery Tables
These instructions apply to cemetery tables that have the headings on the top of the cemetery table and look like this:
Step 1 - Findagrave – Tombstone Transcriptions Online
1. On the county you are working on, go down to the Cemetery heading and click on Edit Source.
2. Go down about 7 lines to the Findagrave link. The following is an example of the link:

3. Copy the following and replace the old URL in the line:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial
4. Using the above link as an example, it should now look like this:

Step 2 - Findagrave – List of Cemeteries in the County
1. Go the website: Findagrave (it will open a new tab)
2. Choose the state you are working on from the list.
3. Next, click on the county you are working on.
4. Copy the URL in the browser address field.
5. Continue to go down the table and find the following link (about the 9th or 10th line down). The line will look like something like this:

6. Paste the new url over the old url in that line.
7. Using the example above, the link should now look like this:

Step 3 - Billion Graves Name Search
1. For this step, we just need to make sure the correct link is in the cemetery table.
2. Go to the next line that has billiongraves in the URL (about the 15th line) to see if the correct link is in the table. It should look like this:

3. If it is correct in the table, go to Step 3.
4. If it is not correct, copy the following and replace the old URL (https://billiongraves.com/pages/search/#) in the link:
https://billiongraves.com/search#
Step 4 - Billion Graves Cemetery search
1. Under the first Billiongraves link, find the second Billiongraves link that is a search for a cemetery name (about the 19th line). The link looks something like this:

2. Copy the following and replace the old URL in the line:
https://billiongraves.com/search/cemetery
3. The link will now look something like this:

Step 5 - Save the page
1. Go to the bottom of the page to the edit summary field and type in, fixed cemetery table and save the page.
2. Now go back and try each of the Findagrave and Billiongraves links to see if they work. Make any adjustments on the URLs so that they work correctly.
3. Go to the next county you are to work on. If you have finished all of the counties you signed up for, go back to the task page and sign up for a new set of counties.
