Danish Infoboxes Part 1

Purpose

The infoboxes for the Danish parish pages are missing pieces of jurisdictional information. The purpose of the project is to add the correct parish jurisdictions to the infobox for each parish, as well as a title for the infobox.

Instructions

Step 1 - Correct Infobox Title

1. Go to the Task List and sign up for a span of wiki pages to fix.

2. Go to the first parish page in your respective span of pages.

3. Edit the infobox using Edit Source. Make sure the infobox is titled with the name of the parish, followed by "Parish":

  • Example: Thise Parish
  • Example: Bjergby Parish
  • Example: Viborg Søndre Parish

Make sure to include any relevant Danish characters in the infobox title, including å, æ, and ø.

Step 2 - Delete the Following

4. While still editing the infobox, delete the following categories:

  • | 1870 – Udskrivningskred / Lægd number
  • | Retskreds
  • | Skifteretten


Step 3 - Add Stift & Pastorat Information

5. Check the infobox for Stift and Pastorat information.

  • If there is already content in the Stift and Pastorat categories, continue on to the next parish.
  • If Stift and/or Pastorat say "Add here", continue with step 6.


6. The names of the Stift and Pastorat should come from the Wikipedia page for the respective parish. This can be a complicated and confusing process, so below are instructions:

  • Go to Wikipedia in Danish. Using the Danish version of Wikipedia will give the most accurate information for the jurisdictions needed for this project.
  • In the search box in the top right-hand corner of the screen, search the name of the desired parish followed by the word “sogn”.
    • Example: “Bjergby sogn”.
    • NOTE: There are often multiple parishes with the same name. Make sure that the Wikipedia page you are looking at is a match for the jurisdictions/locations from the FSWiki page. It's very important that the information comes from the correct Wikipedia page.
  • The Stift and Pastorat information should be in the infobox of the Wikipedia page.
    • Make sure to include any relevant Danish characters, including å, æ, and ø.
  • If the infobox on the Wikipedia parish page does not list the Stift or Pastorat, leave the categories as "Add here" on the FS Wiki.
