FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Colorado Maps
Purpose
Adding information to the Maps heading on the county page
Task List
Instructions
Step 1: Adding Info to Maps heading
1. Go to the Maps heading and change the heading to: Maps and Gazetteers
2. Copy and paste the following text under the map image and any text already appearing under the heading
*[http://www.mapofus.org/colorado/ Interactive Formation Boundary Map of Colorado] - shows boundary changes for Colorado Counties<br>
*[https://digital.newberry.org/ahcb/documents/CO_Individual_County_Chronologies.htm#Individual_County_Chronologies Colorado Historical Boundary Changes] - list of all boundary changes by county provided by [https://www.newberry.org/ Newberry Library]<br>
Step 2: Fix Image
3. Change the code of the image map by adding the wikitext: right| directly after the name of the image and the pipe and before the 300 pixels.
4. If the map looks a little small to read, change the size of the image from 300px to 400px. If it looks large enough, do not change the size of the image.
5. If the name of the image is repeated at the end of the image code, you can remove it.
Example of correct image wikitext code for map image:
Step 3: Save the Page
6. Preview the page by clicking on Show Preview at the bottom of the page. Check your work to make sure it looks like it should. Make any necessary adjustments.
7. In the Summary field, enter "added map links" and save the page.
8. You are now done with the task. Go to the next County on your list.
