Task List[edit | edit source]
Instructions[edit | edit source]
1. Open the Task List, and add your name to the Name column for the country, state, or parish you want to sign up for.
2. Locate the "Wiki Page" column in the task list. These locations are listed backwards. Instead of listing jurisdictions from smallest to largest like normal Wiki pages, these are listed from largest to smallest. You will be searching the Wiki for the correct country, state, or parish page.
3. Search the Wiki for the country, state, or parish.
- Example: The name "Brazil, Espírito Santo" in column C of the task list would be the FS Wiki page titled "Espírito Santo, Brazil".
4. On the FS Wiki country, state, or parish page, look to see if the heading "Colonial Records" already exists.
- If the heading does exist, continue to step 8.
- If the heading does not exist, continue to step 5.
5. On the FS Wiki country, state, or parish page, locate the heading "Reading the Records" and click Edit source.
6. Copy the following code:
==Colonial Records== ===Online Resources===
7. Directly above the "Reading the Records" heading, paste the code you copied in step 6. It should look like the following (with the new Colonial Records heading in yellow highlight):
8. Locate the code in the Code column of the task list for your country, state, or parish (column E).
- NOTE: Make sure you are looking at the correct code for the correct country, state, or parish. There are many lines of code in the task list and it can be easy to mix up which line of code corresponds to which country, state, or parish.
9. Copy the code in the Code column for the row you signed up for.
10. Paste the code directly underneath the new Colonial Records heading you added in step 7.
- NOTE: If any collections are already listed under the Colonial Records heading, add your new code so the collections display in chronological order. If your collection code doesn't have any bolded dates at the beginning, add it to the bottom of the list of collections under the Colonial Records heading.
11. Click "Show preview" to double check that the link you added looks good and doesn't have anything weird about it.
- If there is something off with the link code, do not save the page. Send Trisha Kougioulis an email or a Yammer.
12. Copy the following statement and paste it into the Summary of your edit:
Project adding Brazil Catalog links
13. Click "Save page", and continue on to the next country, state, or parish in the task list.
