Exeter New Hampshire FamilySearch Center

Our mission is to provide help and support for the family history community in Rockingham County, NH and nearby areas. The Center is open to everyone and basic services are free, with just a minimal fee for printing. We are a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, UT and offer free access to many premium subscription websites through the FamilySearch Portal on all of our computers.

Due to staff shortages we are OPEN by appointment only. Sign up below, include your email address. Special Appointment Times can be arranged by emailing our center.

You must sign up 2 days before you are coming so our staff can be available.

Recently email signups have gone to spam so please wait for a confirmation before you come in. If you don't hear back, email us again.

INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL WHEN PROMPTED. BE SURE YOU COMPLETE STEPS # 1 and #2 WHEN YOU SIGN UP BY CLICKING THE RED BUTTONS.

IF YOU ARE BRINGING MATERIALS TO DIGITIZE PLEASE SIGN UP UNDER DIGITIZE OR LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENT SECTION.

  1. Check the day and time(s) you are coming, scroll to the bottom (you must accept cookies) and click on Save & Continue (There is often a bar on the bottom with advertising, click on the side not the center of the bar to get the Save & Continue message)
  2. Include your name, email, phone and any comments and click Sign Up Now
  3. Go back to the calendar and see if your sign up is completed. If you don't see your name on the schedule you are not signed up and we will not be notified you are coming.

  • Bring a USB flash drive to download documents you view online.
  • If the outside door is locked, please ring the bell to alert the consultants that you are here.

Collections[edit | edit source]

  • Patrons' Microfiche Collection -- a collection of fiche ordered by patrons, assorted titles. Contains family histories, vital records, and other types of information.
  • MicroFilm Collection -- a small collection of patron ordered films. Content is digitized but not accessible online and otherwise can only be viewed at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City.
  • Book Collection A  small collection of books containing research guidance materials, biographies, indexes and databases. Our books are listed on LibraryThing.
