Muggletonians[edit | edit source]
One of the many small religious groups that arose during the chaotic Civil War and Commonwealth period was the Muggletonians, named after Lodowick Muggleton (1609-1698). He and his cousin John Reeve (1608-58) declared in 1652 that they were the Two Last Witnesses in the Book of Revelation. There are some lists of names of the approximately 250 members but no other genealogically useful records. Hill et al (The World of the Muggletonians. Temple Smith, London., 1983) describe the movement and its records are held in the British Library. There do not seem to be any on the FamilySearch Catalog yet.
