History[edit | edit source]
The area was inhabited in Roman times. The town itself was first mentioned as Dro/de Dro in 1307.
Jurisdictions:
Evidence indicates that the Sejani and later the d'Arco families held supremacy over the territory for centuries.
The 11th-century "episcopal recognition" for the Sejani family implies some connection to the church's authority.
Major events:
A fire on October 15, 1810, caused significant damage to historic buildings.[1]
