Castel Condino, Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy Genealogy
Guide to Castel Condino municipality, Italy ancestry, family history, and genealogy: birth records, marriage records, death records, census records, and military records.
History[edit | edit source]
The town existed before 1000 AD, evidenced by Roman coins and tombs found there. So, its origins are quite old.
Major events:
- First World War: The Chiese valley, including Castel Condino, was caught between Austro-Hungarian and Italian troops. The population was evacuated, and the town was destroyed. This was a significant event in the town's history.
- 2014: A referendum was held to merge Brione, Castel Condino, Cimego, and Condino. Castel Condino voted against the merger and remained autonomous, while the other three municipalities held another vote.[1]
