History[edit | edit source]

The human settlement in the Casapinta area became denser and stabilized around the year 1000. In 1627 the towns of Mortigliengo, including Casapinta, separated from each other, becoming autonomous municipalities.

Jurisdictions:

  • Until the 13th century, this territory remained almost deserted and was part of an extensive forest, which Emperor Otto III donated to the bishop of Vercelli around the year 1000.
  • In 1243 the territory passed under the control of the Municipality of Vercelli.
  • In 1351 the Mortigliengo was ceded to the Visconti family.
  • In 1373, it returned to the Vercelli curia.[1]
