Archeological evidence suggests human presence in the communal territory dating back to the Middle Paleolithic period. The place name is documented from 1017. In 1046, a castle within the county is mentioned.

Jurisdictions:

  • In 1076, the abbey of Montecassino owned the castle, along with two small convents.
  • Between 1583 and 1796, it was a fiefdom of the Boncompagni family.
  • In 1927, Casalvieri became part of the province of Frosinone, having previously belonged to the province of Caserta.

Major events:

  • Residents participated in bands led by Fra' Diavolo during the French occupation.
  • Following annexation to the Kingdom of Italy, there were instances of banditry.
  • In 1915, it was affected by the Avezzano earthquake.
