Recent studies suggest the first stable settlements date back to Roman times.
Jurisdictions:
- Brumano was one of the original nine, later twenty, towns of the Comunità Generale di Lecco in the medieval period.
- It was connected to Lecco since the Frankish era.
- Later, Brumano was on the border between the Republic of Venice and the Duchy of Milan.
- In 1816, it became part of the province of Bergamo.
Major events:
- During the medieval period, Brumano served as a refuge for people fleeing the conflicts between the Guelphs and Ghibellines in neighboring towns.
- During World War II, the area was noted for the deportation and execution of captured partisans by the Germans. [1]
