Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. If you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
Companies and general counties of enlistment:
- Company A - men from Tippecanoe and Gibson Counties
- Company B - men from Fountain and Porter Counties
- Company C - men from Fountain and Gibson Counties
- Company D - men from White and Fountain Counties
- Company E - men from Fountain County
- Company F - men from Madison and Hamilton Counties
- Company G - men from White County
- Company H - men from Fountain County
- Company I - no cities or counties given
- Company K - no cities or counties given
