Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. If you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
Companies and general counties of enlistment:
- Company A - men from Wells County
- Company B - men from Wabash County
- Company C - men from Adam County
- Company D - men from Wabash County
- Company E - men from Allen and Huntington Counties
- Company F - men from Orange County
- Company G - men from Madison, Marion, and Huntington Counties
- Company H - men from Wells and Huntington Counties
