Brief History

The Right Wing (Cos. "A," "B," "C," "D," "E" and "F") was organized at Madison, Indiana, August 22, 1861, for 1st Cavalry. It was mustered out August 7, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky.

The Left Wing consisted of Companies "G", "H", "I", "K", "L" and "M".
