Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. If you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
Companies and general counties of enlistment:
- Company A - men from Randolph County
- Company B - men from Delaware County
- Company C - men from Henry, Union, Wayne and Randoph Counties
- Company D - men from Henry, Madison and Pulaski Counties
- Company E - men from Delaware and Greene Counties
- Company F - men from Adams, Madison, Hancock, Allen and Howard Counties
- Company G - men from Carroll and Hamilton Counties
- Company H - men from Henry, Hancock and Wayne Counties
