Under the Local Government Act 1972, the county and administrative county of Radnorshire were abolished. On April 1, 1974. Radnorshire became a district of the newly formed county of Powys.

- Powys Public Record Office, also known as Powys Archives, is the official storage area for the records of the people and establishments of the county of Powysincluding which is comprised of Radnorshire, Montgomeryshire, and Breconshire. Our collections date from the fourteenth century.

Civil Registration Offices[edit | edit source]
The General Register Office holds a central copy of all birth, marriage, and death registrations in England. These certificates can be ordered from their website (a login is required but it is free to register and search).
