FamilySearch Wiki:Manual of Style-Table Examples

From FamilySearch Wiki

Purpose[edit | edit source]

This page lists various approved tables and their wikitext code to provide support when creating a new table on a page.

Past concerns:

  • Can we use a row head description in the middle of a table? No
  • Can we use scroll bars on tables?
  • Can we set width of the table? No
  • Can we left align in a cell? Yes
  • Can we use collapsible code?

Tables must follow these guidelines:

  • Do not set width of a table
  • Do not use color to communicate information
  • Do add scope code to designate the row heading
  • Do make sure any color on the table has enough contrast to the text and links
  • Do not use navigation boxes
