History
The first settlers in the Lost River Valley were stockman, who located ranches in different parts of the valley. Later copper and lead ore were discovered near the place where Moore afterwards came into existence. Among the first settlers in the valley were James King and William Darnley. Moore is located in the Lost River Valley; most of the settlers lived on their respective farms and ranches. Irrigation for the farms is obtained from ditches which tap the Lost River on both sides at different points. The totel population of the Moore Precinct was 336 in 1930
