Center Resources

Collections

• Family History Library Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the Family History Library Catalog.
• Access to Alabama Death Records for years 1908 to 1963, complete. 1964-1974, various.
• Access to Many microfilm for England, Ireland, Germany, Scotland, South Africa

Hardware and Equipment

  • We have three microfilm readers, and one printer, and copier,  and new computer. 
  • Bring your laptops so we can work together and bring digital cameras to take quality images from the mircroflim projections.

Center Services

Classes and one on one assistance. Support in using technology and obtaining results in research. Group workshop support to help other patrons working together. Finding joy in doing our family history and completing sacred work.

• BAAGSG , Birmingham African American Genealogy Study Group, (Meets on 2nd Sunday, 3rd Floor of Linn-Henley Building at Birmingham Public Library)

• Samford University: Outstanding seminars for genealogists, Is Reposistory Alabama Baptist Church Records, large Ireland collection, many other records
• Birmingham Southern University: Has Archives for Methodist Church
