Beginning Computer (4 week course)
See inside a computer; learn it’s parts and what they do. Learn keyboarding, mouse, and data entry in Microsoft Word.

Beginning Indexing and Practice Session (1 ½ hour class)
Join other volunteers in indexing records for the Church. Each project page can be completed in about 45 min. To register, bring your membership numberor LDS Account user name and password.

Hands-on help in getting started with new FamilySearch. Learn the power of this inspired program that allows you to add & edit your own info. and collaborate with relatives as you prepare names for temple ordinances. (Bring your LDS Account user name and password or membership number.)

Find A Grave (new) (1 ½ hour class)
Come with me and visit a distant virtual cemetery. Find everyone in the cemetery with the same surname and link the children, parents, grandparents. Add photos and details about their lives for others to see.

Actual exercises to become confident in using Roots Magic and learning how to do all the operations. (Pre-requisite: comfortable with computer and own Roots Magic or have taken beginning class.)

Discover the magic of using Microsoft Windows including file organization and tips and tidbits for easier computer manipulation.

Internet Family History – Beyond Searching (new) (3 week course)
Use the Internet to collaborate, document, source and communicate to grow your family lines. Learn to build research logs on Google Docs, blogs and websites using free Internet tools and an advanced Family History Program. (Must be very familiar with the Internet and use PAF or similar program.)

Newspaper Archives (new) (1 ½ hour class)
Get a glimpse of your grandmother’s life. Read her obituary, learn about who came to visit, or where she was going on a trip. Small town newspapers kept a close eye on the inhabitants. Their activities became the “talk of the town”.

Overview of Roots Magic (4 week course)
Winner of the FamilySearch award for “Easiest to Sync”, Roots Magic 4 genealogy software makes working with new.FamilySearch a breeze. Import from PAF, new.FamilySearch, and other programs. Classes include demo. & hands-on practice. Come see if this is the genealogy program of your choice.

Priesthood Leadership Training (1 hour class)
Training for Priesthood Leaders responsible for Family History work, primarily High Priest Group Leaders.

1. Usually held on the third Thursday of the month in the Relief Society Room.

Collections
- Family History Library Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the Family History Library Catalog.
- (List additional collections you have such as the types of books and microfilm you have on indefinite loan; though you will not want to list every single item you have. Just give visitors to this page a general idea of your resources.)
Databases and Software
- FHC Portal: This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. (Note to FHC: Not all FHCs have access to this portal. If you do not, you will want to remove this entire bullet. If you do have access to it, just remove this text in italics.)
