Thomas'North Carolina Legion was organized at Knoxville, Tennessee, during September, 1862.
Itsurrendered at Waynesville on May 10, 1865.[1]

Thomas' Legion was incorparted into a brigade. The coponent parts of this legion were:
- Infantry Regiment, Thomas' North Carolina Legion
- Walker's Battalion, Thomas' North Carolina Legion

- Indian Battalion, Thomas' North Carolina Legion[2]
