Brief History[edit | edit source]

Organized July 12, 1863, to repel the Morgan Raid. Mustered out July 18, 1863.[1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.

The list of companies with their counties and their rosters are on the th Regimen, Indiana Infantry on CIVIL WAR INDEX web site. (accessed 27 Jan 2011)

_____________________________________________________________

The 105th Regiment consisted of seven companies of the Legion and three of Minute Men, furnished by Hancock, Union, Randolph, Putman, Wayne, Clinton, and Madison counties.   [2]
