Ingelstorps Church

History

Written Ingælstorp in 1330, the church village and parish name contains the Old Danish male name "Ingiald" and "torp" (new build). The parish is a gently hilly area on the coast of the Baltic Sea. The current Ingelstorp church, completed in 1874, replaced the original medieval building. The sculpted baptismal font from 1200 and masonry from the tower are preserved in the new building.[1][2]

In 1971, Ingelstorp parish was transferred to Malmöhus län.
