The first inhabitants of the territory of Cameri were the Liguri-Levi. There are different theories about the origin of the name, possibly Roman or Celtic.

  • Cameri is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region of Piedmont.

Major events:

  • May 18, 1939: Benito Mussolini visited Cameri, toured the Cansa aircraft factory, and inaugurated the "Aeronautical Village".
  • Summer 1944: The Civil Guard of Cameri was created to protect communication lines and village security.
  • Cameri Air Base is one of the oldest and most historically significant military airfields in Italy.
  • In 2023, the Italian Air Force celebrated its 100th anniversary, with Cameri Airport playing a prominent role.[1]
