191st Regiment, Ohio Infantry
Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 191st Regiment, Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Chase, Ohio, January and February, 1865. They had operations in the Shenandoah Valley in vicinity of Winchester, Stevenson's Depot and Jordan's Springs, April to August. They were mustered out August 27, and discharged September 5, 1865.[1]
Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
