Onslunda Church

History

The parish name, written as "Othænslunds" in 1401, reflects the site's history as a grove consecrated to the god Odin. The poor condition of the original church led to the decision to construct a new church in 1844. Several fixtures were preserved from the old church including a triumphal crucifix from the 13th century.[1][2]

Record Loss

A fire at the parsonage in 1795 destroyed part of the church archive.[3]
