Brief History
The Welfley's Battery, Missouri Light Artillery (Union) was organized at St. Louis, Mo., September 25, 1861, and attached to Dept. of Missouri to January, 1862, Army of Southwest Missouri, Dept. of Missouri, to March, 1862. Artillery 1st Division, Army of Southwest Missouri, to May, 1862. Artillery 3rd Division, Army of Southwest Missouri, to July, 1862. Artillery District of Eastern Arkansas, Dept. of Missouri, to October, 1862. District of Southeast Missouri, Dept. of Missouri, to December.[1]
