Brief History

The 16th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry was organized at Springfield, Missouri, November 1, 1863, from the 6th Regiment Enrolled Militia. It was attached to the District of Southwest Missouri, Department Missouri, to April, 1865, and to the District of North Missouri, Department Missouri, to July, 1865.
