St. George Utah FamilySearch Center Classroom B




Classes, Learning and Training Resources

Classes are taught in our center Monday through Friday. You are welcome to attend in person in one of our classrooms or connect online via Zoom. Topics or instructors may change after schedules are posted so please call the center at (435) 673-4591 the morning of the class you are interested in for any possible updates.

*Our classrooms can also be reserved for groups who desire to bring their own teachers or request one of ours for family history related instruction.

Zoom Classes

  • Zoom is an online tool which allows us to provide live interactive classes to people throughout the world.

If you want to join a Zoom Class, do the following:

  • To select a class, choose from the monthly schedule above under the "Class Schedules" heading.
  • Click on the link for the current month and you will see a menu of our classes with the date and time they are offered
  • A Zoom account is not required to join a class!
  • If you would like to know more about Zoom or create a Zoom account, scroll down to the "For help with Zoom" heading below and click on the links provided under the
    heading.


To join a zoom class, do the following:

  1. Navigate to this webpage on the date and time of the class you would like to join (we recommend joining classes 5-10 minutes before they start to
    resolve any connection issues).
  2. Click on "JOIN CURRENT CLASS" below
  3. From the screen that pops up select "Open Zoom Meeting" - DO NOT SELECT "Launch Meeting"
  4. Select "join with video" and "join with audio" when and if prompted to do so.

**Training Moment videos

  • These Training Moment videos are helpful in learning to navigate and use the various features of FamilySearch.
  • They are 3 to 5 minutes each and two new videos are added each month.
  • Sample topics include; working with Memories, photo albums, Topics Tags, restoring and adding photos, slide scanning, new FamilySearch features, attaching sources and un-attached people to FamilySearch, and more.

*Mini FamilySearch Lessons

  • These Mini Lessons are designed for people who are busy, do not have much free time, or do not know much about family history.
  • Most of the lessons require only half an hour to complete.
  • Each lesson covers a simple feature of FamilySearch and can usually be done on your computer at home.
