Brief History[edit | edit source]

The 3rd Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery mustered in November 9, 1861 to March 15, 1862 at Canton, Minerva and Massillon, Ohio.  They mustered out August 1, 1865 at Camp Taylor, Ohio.  [1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.

The men in this battery came from East Liverpool and Hanover, Columbiana County & Stark County.
