History[edit | edit source]

The Ruby Valley Shoshone Indians are part of the larger Western Shoshone Indians. The Western Shoshone Indians ranged from Idaho on the north, through much of Nevada and western Utah, to southeastern California on the south. They signed a treaty with the United States government in 1863, ceding most of their land.
